Years 7 & 8 - School Closure

Your teacher will set you specific tasks on Microsoft Teams. 

If you can't access Teams, or want some extra work, then see below for suggestions. 

 

Year 7

Year 7 Scheme of work. Click on each topic to see more detail. 

WhiteRoseMaths has videos and worksheets for upcoming topics.

During absence from school you should follow this schedule.
Each session should last approximately fifty minutes.
Check Teams for further instructions from your teacher. 

 

Session 1 – MyMaths

  • Your teacher will assign you a particular MyMaths topic, otherwise choose a suitable one that needs practice.

  • Your teacher will send you your login details through Teams.

Session 2 – MathsWatch

  • Work through a MathsWatch task. Login details here

  • Contact your teacher using Teams or email if you need your password re-setting.

  • Your teacher may set you a particular assignment, otherwise pick your own weak area, watch the video and answer the online questions. 

  • If you have limited access to a computer, you should complete the MathsWatch worksheets instead. 

 

Session 3 – Key Skills

  • Complete some corbettmaths.com/5-a-day  questions or a worksheet task from mathsprism.com/ks3-resources or whiterosemaths

  • Your teacher may direct you towards an appropriate level of difficulty (e.g. Numeracy), or attach a relevant task to Teams for you to complete. 

  • Answers will be sent to you through Teams.

  • Afterwards, look up any questions you have struggled with using MathsWatch or MyMaths.

 

Session 4 – Retrieval

  • Complete a KS3 SATS Paper.

  • These will be set for you in Teams.

 

Bonus Session – Something different?

  • There are some wonderful tasks at nrich.maths.org

  • Your teacher may assign you a particular challenge.

  • You could try some of these puzzles available on krazydad.com
